Abstract
It is Vonnegut' s treatment of religion which I have attempted to explain in this paper. Because of the inclusive nature of religion concerning human actions and attitudes, I have also dealt with Vonnegut's treatment of love, his beliefs about our place in the universe, our abilities to change that place, and alternative ways of looking at space and time. I have limited my study to his novels. Vonnegut has also written numerous short stories, a play, and two collections of short stories, anecdotes, speeches, and general opinions. I have used these as secondary background sources as I have also used the criticism on Vonnegut.
