A Working Business Plan for Veterinary Associates
Being involved in this Senior Individualized Project has been a very rewarding experience for me and a positive step in my Business Career. I have been involved in the assembling of many confidential goals and objectives of the firms associates. I am more confident now than ever in my abilities as a young businessmen. In this project I evaluated certain aspects of Veterinary Associates and the services they offer, attempting to help the firm in any way possible. The first section of my Sip for Veterinary Associates will include the development of a written and working business plan for the firm to use. The business plan is to become a working document to be used by the associates of the firm, new veterinarians, and all "stakeholders" in the firm. These are all individuals who provide some type of support for the association, be it income, time, expertise, or whatever. It should serve the firm as a tool for making the day to day decisions necessary for its operation. This new business plan should also serve as a tool for the evaluation of methods, materials, ideas, and new proposals. The main purpose of this business plan is not to directly obtain additional funding from investors like so many other business plans. Rather, many off the goals and objectives of this business plan deal with how the firm can change its image as strictly a large animal service, and increase its portion in the small animal market. The business plan should go a long way toward assuring the new clients how established and credible the firm actually is. Besides the obtaining of a larger portion of the small animal market, another chief objective of this business plan is the attracting of key employees. New top-notch Doctor's of Veterinary Medicine need to be assured that the firm is really right for his or her talents. The business plan should help save a lot of conversation and explaining, and install the necessary confidence to snare top candidates. The final section of my SIP will explain the overall benefits I received from doing this business plan for Veterinary Associates of Reedsville, Wisconsin. This section is an integration of my SIP, internships, and classroom experiences. I relate the experiences I have had while being an Economics major at Kalamazoo College, and how I feel this will help me in my business career.
