Abstract

As an audio enthusiast I dove into this project with a passion. I have always wondered about the "hows" and "whys" of speaker construction and I believe there are many audiophiles like myself who have wondered about the same thing. I write this report with the intent that it will be used as a guide for anyone interested in those same "hows" and "whys". The report is not an attempt to impress the engineer but is an account for the layperson, to help him or her understand that speaker construction can be an involving hobby, one that challenges the mind and stimulates the creativity. The instructions are here. The reader needs no more than a little time, money, and a measure of patience. Speaker construction is no different than cooking. Following a basic recipe, the "chef" adds special touches and spices to reflect his or her talents and taste. The final product is something that the creator can enjoy as much when it is finished as during its development.
