Abstract
Employee opinion surveys have been used as a tool to measure employee satisfaction in many organizations. The merging of two large telecommunications companies, Ameritech advertising services and SBC Directory Operations, resulted in the need to assess employee satisfaction through an improved employee opinion survey. Using qualitative and quantitative methods the researcher reviewed methodologies, surveys, and results of previous employee opinion surveys. With this information, the researcher developed a recommended survey for implementation in the year 2000. In addition, the researcher included action steps to ensure the survey design process was carried out efficiently and benefited the company.
