Abstract
This project investigates the question about what are the effects of using different media platforms among teenagers via reading Sherry Turkle's book Alone Together and other cyber psychology journals. To do so, it reviews recent literature related to adolescent abusive use of social networking sites and self-presentation anxiety. Basically this paper discusses how people rely on technology more and more rather than each other. To many of people, the faked online identity is more symbolic than real identity. People try to make up some characteristic they don't have in the reality online, such as creating their avatars as "what they should look like" or "what others may like of me".
