Abstract
I decided not to talk about what was wrong with traditional male-oriented theatre, but instead to approach the problem by presenting an alternative. I would talk about the positive aspects of new works by women which are free of male bias. I spent a month in New York City, seeing plays, reading works on feminism and art and talking with women playwrights (including Caryl Churchill), actresses, and directors. I came back to 'K' and spent the next three and a half months trying to put all the ideas I had confirmed or discovered into a cohesive, understandable, accessible, non-threatening entertaining statement. The following SIP is the result.
