"N.T.," A Case Study of a Native American Student Within Problems Faced by the Student's School District

A Case Study on N.T., A Suttons Bay Jr. High Student
This paper not only examines the problems faced by one Native American student at her school, but also the unique problems faced by her school teachers and administrators. It should be noted that the issues discussed here are considered delicate and that I was warned off the topics within because of the extreme amount of publicity in the local media that have been fueling the fire. Also, it should be noted that the teachers have been accused of discriminatory practices by the local media and the Tribal Administration. I did not observe this to be true, but rather, noticed an extreme care to not place themselves in any situation that might be misconstrued as such. I am grateful I to the teachers, administrators, and students who were willing to discuss the issues within, despite the atmosphere prevailing.
