Computer Simulation of Weak Shock Propagation in a Shock-Tube
Timm, Gerald L.
The purpose of this research was to become familiar with the iterative method and to apply this technique to further the understanding of the previous shock-tube experiments. It was anticipated that the previous results could then be extended by computer-simulated propagation to shock amplitudes that cannot be obtained with our experimental apparatus. We found that only the simulated waveforms with amplitudes of [no more than] .2 atmospheres agreed well with the experimental waveform data.
