Abstract
It has been found that when an intense laser beam
is focused to a point in air, electrical breakdown of the
air near that point occurs, forming a spark. This paper
reports on experimental investigations of some optical
properties of laser-induced sparks and also on the calculation
of the order of magnitude of their light energy.
