Abstract

On March 16, 2020, the rapid spread of the coronavirus and recommedations from the Centers for Disease Control resulted in the decision for the entire spring term to be taught via distance learning instead of just the first two weeks of classes. An executive order from Michigan's governor Gretchen Whitmer issued on the same day also closed facilities on campus such as the library and the fitness center. Students were still required to leave residence halls on March 18 and faculty and staff were instructed to work from home beginning on March 19.
