Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore the connections between availability of transportation for youth and their well-being. I have collected data in the form of interviews from youth, young adults, and adults in Benzie County, Michigan. The study is specifically focused on transportation in rural areas and participation in extracurricular activities that contribute to positive youth development. The results showed that transportation is a limiting factor when it comes to utilization of extracurricular activities that improve social development for youth. Although many youth in Benzie County are participating these activities, there are many more who could be taking advantage of the opportunities if transportation were available.
