Abstract
This paper examines how education alone plays a crucial role in building income and health status of the Kalamazoo County. In particular, how education correlates with cigarette smoking and household income. The paper also examines how the Greater Kalamazoo United Way is building the educational sector and by doing so, is helping to build the health and income sectors. It is important to analyze economic theories, research statistics, and journal articles to understand the key role education, health, and income play in developing stronger socioeconomic communities.
