Abstract
There is a space for computers and
theater to merge and aid each other. The space is ever
widening and as the future advances the merge between the
two will increase in scope. someday, the Theatre/Computer
Science student will be a natural extension of society
instead of a rarity that raises eyebrows and curious
glances. With the financial factor in consideration, it
will be quite a while before such dynamic and truly
impressive computer/theatrical combinations come into full
force, but they're on their way. Today, it isn't surprising
to find a theater housing a bank of computers which store
lighting information. Tomorrow it may not be uncommon for
computers to be everywhere within theater. As the trend
continues to move forward, as in every other field, I
believe computers will become natural within theater. As a
tool to be utilized, if not cherished, I look forward to
seeing what uses of computers the future of theaters hold
