Leader-member exchange theory is a form of social exchange theory that describes the individual relationships that form between manager and salesperson in an organization. Through thorough research of the topic an understanding is gained as to why leader -member exchange is so important. There are many different facets of the topic with many different effects that have a major influence on working relationships within a business setting. The benefits from understanding leader-member exchange range from gaining an upper hand in searching for a job to leading a happier and successful life.
