Abstract
Autism is a spectrum of disorders characterized by complications in social interaction, communication, and repetitive behaviors. Considering there is currently no single treatment for autism, many toxic pharmaceutical medications have been used to treat the symptoms that come along with the disorder. When a loving mother in California, Meiko Hester-Perez, could no longer starid the pain of watching the negative side effects the 13 different medications had on her son with autism, she turned to medical cannabis for help. With her son Joey making significant progress and now only on two medications, Meiko swears that medical cannabis saved her son's life. In the present review, the evidence for cannabis as a treatment for autism is reviewed.
