Abstract
This paper seeks to investigate the validity that produce prices are lower at superstores than at farmers’ markets by using Kalamazoo as a case study. This is done by analyzing the difference between the two markets’ mean prices over time. The findings of this study do not provide unequivocal support for either market, with environmental externalities and economies of scale obscuring the observed price differences.
