Abstract
My interest in García Lorca began with an appreciation of his poetry which grew as I visited and learned about his Andalusia and further heightened as I read his dramas. This paper has afforded me many trying moments, as I battled with some ridiculously inferior translations (which taught me why Lorca has never achieved the same measure of popularity outside of Spanish-speaking countries as he has within them) and a growing wealth of information, much of which was interesting but irrelevant to my topic.
