Abstract
Beginning with a discussion of his major works before La Chute, I will trace the development of his philosophy towards life and religion. Then the relevance of La Chute to this philosophy will be considered. Does La Chute represent a drastic change in Camus's religious philosophy leading towards either a conversion or the damnation of mankind? Or has his philosophy not really changed so much after all? With a general understanding of Camus's philosophy from his preceding works, we will be better able to consider these questions.
