The documentary La ftnca de los perezosos tells the story of an organic permaculture farm in Panama, started by an American man from Milwaukee. With considerable help of his "right hand man" Marcelino, a Panamanian man from the rural town of Atre, he undertakes the mission of proving and exhibiting a productive model for organic farming in a geographical area complicated by intense heat, rain, and erosion. In opening up his property to local farmers, teachers, and school children, he shares new methods of cultivation absent of conventional pesticide use and slash and burn farming techniques. Will the farm make a lasting impression on the greater Panamanian community? This documentary will explore individual perspectives on permaculture, revealing how interests and capabilities merge to support an educational, agricultural movement both unique and fundamental to progressive social change in Panama.en_US
