Abstract
Twenty-four student subjects served in a study which attempted to apply the theory of the motivation to work of Fredrick of Herzberg, an industrial psychologist, to a college environment as a test of the universality of the theory. Subjects participated in loosely-structured 1nterviews. The analysis of their responses showed that the college environment could not be adequately explained through Herzberg's theory, but some interesting information on the values and concerns of Kalamazoo College students was obta1ned.
