Abstract
Yersinia spp. are gram-negative bacteria capable of interrupting immune system response by injecting Yersinia outer proteins (Yops). Saccharomyces cerevisiae is used as a model system for YopT infection due to its similar cytoskeleton structure. YopT can easily and safely be expressed in S. cerevisiae by inserting an expression plasmid. Previous work suggests that the suppression mutation may also cause a temperature sensitive phenotype. If the mutation is temperature sensitive, then its location can be found through complementation.
