Abstract
The purpose of this project was to outline the possible sources of argyrophilic cells in mammalian gastric mucosa. The general outline of the paper follows that of a journal article written in the biological fields. A brief history of the enterochromaffin system is discussed followed by the methods and materials used, the results, and a discussion of the findings. Some evidence was obtained which indicates eosinophilic leukocytes as the probable source for argyrophilic cells.
