Abstract
Social media and media aggregation offer many advantages to traditional media and fits better with the increasingly connected nature of the internet age. Though this shift has brought a beneficial change to topics and opinions which might have been ignored by traditional media these systems are not without their flaws. Concerns over data ownership use and security are becoming more prevalent among user bases and an increasingly divided view on what is happening and what is truth are eroding the trust in these services. Stakswipe offers to fix some of these issues through new models on how a users data is held, how a user votes and how much a users interests play into what they see. Stakswipe may never catch on and these solutions may be ineffective to solve the problems but something with a similar view on data ownership and voting hopefully will influence the current services that dominate the space.
