Abstract

This paper is involved with the motion of fluids through constraining devices . Fluids differ with solids in that they are substances , usually gases or liquids , that alter their shape in response to forces and tend to flow . When the fluid is within a constraining device it tends to conform to the outline of the container and when under the influence of a pressure difference it tends to flow through this container. The fluid used in the experiments to follow is water and in the circumstances throughout this paper it will be considered incompressible and viscous . The constraining devices used are pipes of circular cross-section .
