Roles of Women in the Old Testament and the Apocrypha
The intent of this project has been to present a series of essays on the roles of women as portrayed in the Old Testament and Apocrypha as a primary exploration of the roots of some of these attitudes. This paper does not pretend to be an exhaustive piece of work, but as a personal beginning it has succeeded very well. Many changes have come about as a result of contact with this material. Perhaps the most important of these is a dawning awareness of women and their historical status which underscores the importance of the changes that are currently taking place in our society. The essays presented are exercises in thought and writing skills.
