Abstract
This paper seeks to understand the appropriation of ancient Egyptian deities into Stargate: SG-1. It seeks to understand why those particular deities were chosen, how they were manipulated and for what reasons the deities were altered as they were. This paper will compare the original deity to the Stargate: SG-1 version in order to see what was changed and to figure out what purpose these alterations serve. In no way is this paper going to be able to address every set, piece of cloth, or movement of the actor. However, it will address major alterations and similarities of the ancient Egyptian deities into Stargate: SG-1.
