Letter from Eugene H. Bronson of Comstock, MI, to Harriet (“Hattie”) N. Taylor, also of Comstock, MI, dated November 3, 1862, from a camp near Munfordville, Kentucky. Bronson served as a sergeant in Company C of the Fourth Michigan Cavalry Regiment until his death at Nashville, Tennessee on November 7, 1863. In this letter, Bronson discusses the aftermath of the Battle of Perryville, also known as the Battle of Champlin Hills, a skirmish between Danville and Stanford in Kentucky, and a comment made by Union General Lovell H. Rosseau.
