Abstract

During the summer of 2005 I participated in a full time financial internship in the shared services division of the Zingerman's Community of Business. Over my time at Zingerman 's I assisted the accounting staff as well as the Vice President of Administration in their daily routines as well as taking on special projects. The goal of this internship was to provide a practical, hands on experience in the financial department of a business while also providing services to the business by having the intern partake in endeavors that would benefit the productivity and fluidity of the business' functionality. This internship was also designed to provide a medium where I could apply my classroom learnings to an experiential learning situation. Through on the job training I was able to connect theories of cash flow as it pertained to accounting principles as well as business management.
