Abstract
Non-profits have different objectives and needs than businesses in the for-profit sector. This requires non-profits to modify the typical business plan structure to better suite these objectives and needs. While many of the sections of a non-profit plan parallel those of a for-profit business plan, the dichotomous nature and mission drive of nonprofits reshapes each of these sections. This paper attempts to present and describe the four most important sections to include in a non-profit plan. The Mission, Market, Makeup, and Money topics form the core focus of the non-profit plan. These topics form the foundation of the non-profit plan from which an organization may expand to meet its unique needs and objectives.
