Abstract
The primary purpose of this study for Farm Credit Services of Schoolcraft, Michigan is to determine the present market situation, in the Country Home Loan market, and devise a plan that will improve the market share, and capital of Farm Credit Services. Three counties were involved in the study, and research was approached using three methods. (1) Mortgage data was obtained from county offices; (2) Verbal surveys of the industry were conducted and (3) Industry data were collected from various agencies. All information was then analyzed to get ideas of market trends and the strengths and weaknesses of the competition. Market analysis, and evaluation of the competition lead this student consultant to conclude that Farm Credit Services can readily increase its market share in this highly competitive market. The conclusions and recommendations were the result of practical marketing research methods. Evaluation and discussion with successful persons and institutions in the industry, for comparison, were utilized.
