Kalamazoo College's Hicks Center Lounge. On the back of the photograph: "The main reception lounge, which adjoins the main lobby and the banquet room in the College Union-dining facility, provides a comfortable atmosphere for informal gatherings. The lounge features a balcony leading to the Banquet Room on one end and a massive wall fireplace with a silver-grey sheet metal hood." This facility, which incorporates the 1940 Welles Dining Hall, was completed in 1970 to serve as the college union. It was named for Weimer K. Hicks, who served as president from 1953 to 1971.
