Kalamazoo College Mirror Lake
Abstract
Mirror Lake, sometimes known as the "College Pond," which was near the center of campus at the turn of the century. This view, taken from in front of Williams or Upper Hall (men's dormitory) is to the east. The tennis courts and Academy Street are at the left, and the athletic field is just beyond the lake. Somewhat stagnant and often thought of as a local health nuisance, the lake was filled in by 1925. The photograph has the name Stillman G. Jenks on the back, who may have been the photographer. Jenks graduated in the Class of 1911 and worked as a realtor in the Kalamazoo area.
