Abstract

Caribbean Flamingos are seasonally monogamous, but do not readily reproduce in captivity and exhibit finicky flock behavior.

Creating a self-sustainable population in captivity is essential for the conservation of wild flamingo flocks.

Observations of captive behavior could give insight to enrichment needed to stimulate reproductive behavior and encourage captive reproductive programs.
