Protecting the Environment through Environmental Education

Abstract

-I educated kids about many aspects of animals: their anatomy, behavior, habitat and why these animals are in captivity. In addition I educated kids and the general public about a range of environmental issues such as global warming, the illegal pet trade, and water pollution and helped them devise their own ways to decrease their carbon footprint -By acting as a role model and educator I was able to create bonds between kids and the natural world in order to help inspire environmental awareness and a sense of biophilia in the next generation -My profound experiences working at the Star Eco Station: Exotic Wildlife Rescue Facility and Environmental Museum inspired me to do further research on the benefits and process of environmental education as a viable solution to changing the condition of our environment
