Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become a buzzword in the past few decades. It features prominently on corporate websites; sparks heated debates about management theory; and appears in trade, scholarly, and popular publications alike. But what is it? Everyone seems to have a different opinion. However, the lack of a common definition has not prevented business from recognizing its importance leading to the proliferations of CSR initiatives as corporations strive to meet changing social expectations for their behavior.
