Abstract
In the State of Michigan there were 79,940 people who experienced homelessness in 2007 (Benchmark Report 2007). This number was calculated through the collection of data from four hundred and fifty five organizations across the State and imputed into the Michigan State Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). The research question for this study was developed out of curiosity about the above information. I was not only intrigued by the number of homeless individuals in Michigan, but also by who was working for the 79,940 individuals experiencing homelessness and how they viewed the homeless situation in Michigan. The following study will examine who the individuals are who work to end homelessness, and how their perception of the factors contributing to the problem of homelessness influences the solutions they may propose to solve the problem of homelessness.
