A Musical Midsummer Night’s Dream: A dual curriculum Unit Plan, Methodology, and Performance Guided by the Process of Orff-Schulwerk and Integrated into the Content Areas of Elementary Music and Secondary English. A Student-Teaching Experience And Composition.
Abstract
Orff-Schulwerk has influenced my life as both a teacher and a student. It has also
lead me to research the possibilities that the "average" music classroom can do. This all inclusive method of teaching music has taught me how to recognize relevance and connections between multiple and diverse content areas, specifically Music and English.
My research, design, and implementation of an Orff-Schulwerk SIP has only sparked the beginning of a burning passion to broaden the knowledge and horizons of my students.
