Effects of Spatial Isolation of Poverty on Youth Development
Abstract
The cores of the United States large urban metropolises have developed into some of the most unique environments in the world. With a substantial portion of the population residing within these metropolises it is important to understand the unique nature of these environs as well as how they came to be. Particularly striking is the way in which these unique circumstances tend to perpetuate themselves. Because of the large impact of the environments on residents, it is important to understand precisely how particular circumstances associated with the inner cities of the United States affect the life course of youth within these cities.
