A User-Centered Design Approach to Improving Web Usability in Web-Based Form Interfaces
Abstract
Web usability engineering is a field designed to improve websites that are
difficult or confusing for the average user. This paper presents a User-Centered
Design approach to improve a web-based form interface responsible for
managing tabs, pages, and an image gallery. The study included 10 participants, 7
females and 3 males, between the ages of 17-18. Participants were given a list of
tasks to complete and then presented with a questionnaire. Based on the results,
a revised interface was constructed. Participants completed the same tasks and
completed another survey. The quantitative results of this survey found no
significant differences in usability between the original application and the
revised application.
