Biofuels: Renewable Energy?
Abstract
In an effort to become more environmentally conscious, there has been a worldwide effort to use
products that are more carbon neutral. Two different renewable energy biofuels that have attracted
recent attention are corn ethanol and biodiesel. Doing an in depth analysis of the energy inputs and
carbon emissions associated with their production, we hope to determine if the fuels are environmentally
advantageous. After doing an analysis on the fuel consumption of Kalamazoo College, we will look to
see if and where biofuels can be implemented.
