Prof. Luike Johann Hemmes was an active member of the Kalamazoo College faculty from 1925 to 1958. He taught German, Philosophy, and Psychology. He was born in Germany in 1888 and came to the United States in 1907. His papers were given to the Kalamazoo College Archives by his widow, Mabel "Gibbie" Hemmes, in 1979.
