dc.description.abstractTrehalose has been catalytically deuterated at several positions in the glucose rings. Deuterium and 13C dipolar NMR spectra have been used to confirm sites of deuteration. Quadrupole, 13C dipolar and 1H dipolar splittings have been used to determine molecular orientation and conformation in cesium perfluoro-octanoate liquid crystal media.en
