Abstract
During my project, To served the activities at Sergio's Peluquerfa, a Spanish hair-salon. My methodology mainly included two information-gathering techniques: formal interviews and informal conversations. Alongside consistent journaling and regular meetings with my project coordinator, these methods proved effective in the development of my research. My role at this placement was that of observing, where I tried to capture rich, relevent, descriptive details of the site's routine. The main activity at Sergio's Peluquerfo is
to provide services including: cut color, highlighting, permanents, style, make-up, and manicure.
Specifically, I focused on three aspects of this business, including advertisement, atmosphere, and clientele-stylist relationship. Upon termination of research, I made generalizations about the Spanish life-style and people. Firstly, I concluded that Spanish people, in general, are very sociable and outgoing. Then, that the pace of life in this country is
more relaxed and less stressful. And finally, that the role of women had changed.
