Abstract
My research objective is to develop an approach to science curriculum that avoids the lecture-exclusive teaching and instead incorporates a variety of teaching activities and methods that connect scientific information to students. The outcome I hope to see in implementing this type of teaching is a stronger connection between students and the science material. My desire is for students to develop their own sense of analysis, critical thinking and investigative skills to understand more thoroughly the curriculum as it relates to them as individual. However, being able to understand the science is not enough to hold both passion and wonder for the world from the scientific perspective. My real goal in teaching science is to incite both understanding and interest so that students identify themselves as scientists, if not of chemistry, than of their personal experiences and of the everyday world.
