How History and Culture Affect the Nature of Marriage within a Country
Abstract
I analyzed the experience of marriage in Spain by looking at the country’s unique history (including the recent end of a dictatorship), the role of women, the effects of Catholicism, their cultural traditions and beliefs about marriage, as well as assessing the current situation. My project was done through personal research, interviews with psychologists, ministers, and residents of Spain, attending “La Parroquia” a Spanish form of premarital therapy, as well as personal observations.
