Abstract
This project includes materials developed for the ChemLinks Coalition, a national chemistry curriculum project supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation. Background information and case studies were collected on topics concerning food and food regulation. These materials will become part of a curriculum for introductory college chemistry that focuses on analyzing data, applying analytical skills, and learning the fundamental concepts of chemistry. Using case studies with real-life applications, students will learn to think both as chemists and as a conscientious consumers.
