    Abstract
The purpose of this project is to bring to fruition the ability to use differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) to routinely scan low temperature processes for undesired chemical reactivity through subambient conditions and above that could threaten process safety and/or product quality. This will involve placing a DSC into a low temperature test chamber. The primary challenges are the preservation of thermal integrity of the sample while preparing the sample, maintaining a gas barrier, dispensing known amounts of sample, sample loading, tau lag, temperature and energy calibration, material problems, cell transitions, and the facility of the process.
