Abstract

Ethel Cronkite, class of 1920, was an American Baptist missionary who served in Bengal-Orissa, India from 1921-1939. In 1927, she sent the college issues of the missionary magazine Tidings to contribute to the school's centennial collection. This issue contains articles detailing the caste system, challenges faced by Indian converts, the conditions of the local Y.M.C.A., and personal accounts from missionaries in the region.
