Abstract
Program for the 1987 season of Festival Playhouse. Features four plays: Charley's Aunt by Brandon Thomas and directed by D. Terry Williams (July 9-12, 16-18), Master Harold and the Boys by Athol Fugard and directed by Ed Menta (July 23-25, 30-31, August 1, 6-8), Harvey by Mary Chase and directed by David Grapes (July 30-31, August 1-2, 6-8), and Beggar Moon by Conrad Hilberry and with music by Merwin Lewis, directed by Nelda K. Balch (August 20-23, 27-29). This was the world premiere of Beggar Moon; author Conrad Hilberry was a Professor of English at the time, and his poems were set to song by Kalamazoo College alumnus Merwin Lewis. The play was based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale "King Thrushbeard."
