Les femmes de la Resistance
Abstract
French women found ways to use their skills to resist under pretext of their typical roles in society. They did this with modesty and courage and a determination to protect their families and their country. It is necessary to examine all aspects of their participation to understand how their contributions changed the lives of these women. Each woman had a unique experience; therefore we must study how they resisted, the work they did, and their views on their participation in the Resistance. Moreover, it is important to see what happened to these women after the war. I will explain the forms of resistance through my reading of Sisters in the Resistance: How Women Fought to Free France. In addition, I will examine texts by resisters; Aucun de nous ne reviendra by Charlotte Delbo and poems by several resisters.
